2 Tornados: I watched and photographed these twisters for about 10 minutes as they moved west.
I spotted them at 3pm on Wednesday 18th August 2004, passing slowly to the S.E. of Bandon Co. Cork.
My viewing point was north of the river, a couple of miles East of the town and looking south east across the river valley.
The image quality is not great because I used a digital camera ( 9MB) which makes them unsuitable for print
reproduction purposes ( other than on newsprint ). Viewing on screen still gives a good impression of their scale.
The crest of the hill is about 2 miles away and the tornadoes were a distance beyond that again.

Observers at the Old Head of Kinsale reported that there were in fact 4 twisters although there are no images to support this.
Photo 0001 is the main cell and didn't seem to make contact with the ground although the tornado in Photo 3 which was
further to the East looks like it may have done. These images appear in their correct sequence, as they were shot.
Luckily there were no reports of damage.
